"Not Just the Tip This Time" 1949 (B&W) starring Dean Stockwell and Mitzi Gayner as a pair of elementary school drop-outs. Musical score by Petrov Myinska. If it were a book, I wouldn't be able to put it down.

Years ago it was reported in the tabloids that Eve Plumb owned the original copy of "Not Just the Tip This Time" and viewed it religiously every Friday night. I'm having a diurnal emission just thinking about it.

"Johnney Diurnal Gets His" 1957 (B&W) Two children discover a cache of abandoned enema bags under the back porch of an old mansion. Yves Montand is convincing in his performance as the owner of the automat who harbors the children as they are systematically hunted down by the title character, played foppishly by a rather butchish Donna Reed.

"Return of the Ball Scalding Larry's" 1955 (B&W) starring Ted Waring and His Pennsylvanians. His Pennsyvanians did a good job, but I found Fred's performance to be lacking. He had no spark. He mumbled his lines as if he had muff in his mouth. It was disappointing in this regard, but I can still recommend it for the costumes (Edith Head) and the aforementioned collective performance of His Pennsylvanians. Evidently, I wasn't the only one who felt that Fred dropped the ball. According to the special features on the collector's edition of this DVD, "His Pennsylvanians" dumped Fred for the 1956 "Summer of Grotesque and Arabesque" tour. I think this one would be good for the Offbeat Cinema Show.

"The Tongue And I" (1954) According to the Hollywood Reporter, they tried but couldn't get Claude Rains to play the lead, so the part was given to Fred Waring who was fresh off the success of "The Ball Scalding Larry's Take Tacoma". I wet myself while I watched it through my neighbor's basement window.

Swertle the Spondeen Slowly - Ernest Borgnine is a despondent door-to-door prosthetic limb salesman beset with the demons of his childhood tenure as a stable boy for Douglas Fairbanks. Flashbacks, flashes forward, and a generally disjointed timeline coupled with Freudian imagery in abundance will both fool your friends and frighten the elderly. The classic final scene, wherein Ernie Da B dances a tarantella of death upon the head of Hedy Lamar in a pair of Japanese wooden shoes whilst juggling koi with a rose in his teeth is on a par with anything Bergman every dredged from his Scandian subconscious. The gauntlet of hork scene alone is worth the price of admission. With Lionel Barrymore, Peter Lorre, and Butterfly McQueen all in an unusual and pivotal role as Splatina the Char Woman.

Horkzilla vs Rodthra, that ornary lizard is back and spewing copious amounts of hork on a rather bewildered and phallic looking Rodthra who retaliates by firing streams of something oddly resembling seminal fluid at our reptilian nemesis. Erstwhile the Shobijin girls become inebriated drinking from a hork filled Gjallarhorn left by Ingemar Bergman on the shores of Beiru. Tokyo is saturated in bodily emissions and a new fetish is born. Black and lots of white.

Shoes of the Fischer Man, starring Clint Fischer as a transient availing of the generosity of his friends. As he has no sneakers of his own he is contastantly wearing those of his host hoping that they will not discover his habitual hornswoggling. Al throughout the film people are heard reitterating that same statement " That M_F--er Fischer has my shoes again Man"!!! . He lives exclusivley off Social Assistance cheques and gratuitous amounts of ice cream while losing every video game he plays. He applies his MAN make-up defensively extolling his heterosexuality which is ambiguous due to his daily application of mascara and foundation, in the closet? Probably, you will have to watch and make your own decision, truly and epic, you"ll laugh, you"ll cry, you"ll kiss 5 hours goodbye!! Why doesn't he hork in the sneakers? And why doesn't he steal hork-filled loafers cuz I don't want them!! Nobody knows.
