Not on Retro anymore?

What the hell happened?  I love Off Beat.

But this week, my local affiliate (WOI in Iowa... sigh) is showing some BS called Midnight Monster Hop.  It's terrible.  They aren't identifying or commenting on the movie at all.  All the "skits" are five second clips of fat asses dressed like lame goths doing 101 joke book jokes.  Other than that, it's these fat goobers hawking their lame t-shirts.  It's one of the worst things ever.

I went to RTN's website and they no longer list Off Beat as one of their shows, but do list this awful MMH show.

I'm really unhappy about this.  Anyone have any info on what's happening?  Is this change permanent?  I'd like to hear from the Off Beat folks on if they are going elsewhere or what's happening.

oh, so that's what that crap was...I'd thought my tv was possessed again.  guess I'll have to call the priests back. *sigh*

RTN dumps OBC for Midnight Monster Hop

I'm in the Phoenix market.  We need to mount a letter writing campaign to bring OBC back.

I sent an e-mail to rtn@myretrotv.com asking for an explanation on the switch and letting them know they were likely to lose me as a viewer if the change was permanent.

I'll know tonight if Detroit switched
jeff

Let me know, if you hear anything.  I'll send them an email.  We all should, and write letters too!

thanks,

Jeff

I believe it was Maxwell who said, "that Gravely is a horker of loafers, a sharter, a turter, and a third-rate plewker."  This was overheard near the 6th street bridge from a garbage bag-wrapped shopping cart with a floppy wheel.  Doesn't make it any less true.

No OffBeat Cinema here, This Week

The old Western Electic wall phone rang at midnight. I dropped my copy of Parrot Fancy and ran to answer it, desperate for any human contact. The voice on the other end was slurred. I could smell the cheap gin through the line. "Turn on channel 35" it said, then hung up. I turned on channel 35. No OBC. Just a Golden Girls Marathon. I couldn't turn it off. Hot for Bea Arther.

The voice on the phone? Surely it was Maxwell.

I work for the company that hosts RTN here in Tampa. Same story here!!!
This Midnight Monster Hop show is total crap! Offbeat was the ONLY show I watched on Sat!!! I'll see if I can find out why they decided to change the programming if I can.

My Aunt Grace came back from her Florida vacation with a camera full of pics on her old Brownie. I had them developed at the local Drug Store. Thrift. I stood near the propyilactics looking at the photos and noticed in one a man in green Bermuda shorts, pink flip flops, and a "I Heart Bea Arther" t-shirt" scratching his nether regions.
Harry Cooper?

No my friend that was not me... That was my Dad! Actually, I'm moving from this "Elephants Graveyard" as soon as possible!!! I'm heading back to the great white north! If I can't get Offbeat on the tube in the Sunshine State then I'm done with it!

This is what I just sent to RTN...

Dear RTN,
Can anybody please explain why Off Beat Cinema was removed from your station and replaced with Midnight Monster Hop? I am very disappointed with this move. By replacing Off Beat Cinema with Midnight Monster Hop you have committed the unforgivable T.V. sin... The sin of unentertaining abysmal programing!
Now, before you say "Hey, they're BOTH monster movie shows!" consider this... The HOSTS make these shows! We've seen these movies hundreds of times but it's the hosts that breathe new life into old flicks!
So, If It's not too much trouble... BRING BACK OFF BEAT CINEMA BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!!!!

Thanks

Harry Cooper
(unhappy viewer.)

P.S. I'll be waiting for my explanation.

Here Here!!

I sent them an email.  No reply.

I emailed them also. In return I received a small package in the mail. The Postal Worker who delivered it seemed nervous, and was was wearing a pair of Pro Keds instead of approved footwear. I was suspicious so I took it down to the sub-basement to open it. Inside was a pack of slightly crushed Little Debbie's Banana Twins, a coupon for 10% off my next Dry Cleaning, a 1977 Issue of Cat Fancy, and a photo of Maxwell relaxing on a beach in a yellow Speedo.
I ate the cakes. runs.

Yep, no reply received here either.  I turned on RTN this past Saturday night, and what were they showing?  Not only was it that awful Midnight Monster Hop show, but it was the same episode from the previous week.  Either that, or the bumpers with the lame puns are exactly the same every episode. I didn't stick around for more than a minute or two.  It's got to be one of the worst things on television.

I emailed them again. A few days later I was awakened from a restless sleep in which I was dreaming of Poe Man Poe hosting Match Game 74 where he ended up sitting on Charles Nelson Reilly's lap singing the theme song from "The Facts Of Life". What interupted my slumber was the sound of a car circling the block over and over, seeming to slow when it was directly in front of my house. I'm no expert, but it appeared to be a 1935 Hupmobile Aerosedan. The vanity plate read "ZOLTNSAPRCK".

In the morning I found the sidewalk littered with empty cans of Diet Rite Cola, two pairs of well worn Penny Loafers, and several copies of "Garden Gnome Monthly".

Maxwell?
Zoltan

So I Messaged Maxwell on his SpaceBook acount,Or was it  MyFace, Anyway Maxwell did reply but it was a coupon for A Carwash  and a free buffing  the next time I'm in Buffalo Wild Wings....

MOLEMAN?

The email to contact.

I sent an email to Maxwell and he gave me this email address

NArdman@myretrotv.com

So please send in all your requests to get the show back on.
Zoltan

Who'd you cheese off to get your program removed from that Retro station?   I'm not really looking forward to the AIRWOLF reruns and wish you'd return   Who can I complain to?

Take care and keep your stick on the ice

I sent them an email. They suggested I contact Jan Michael Vincent who was last seen living under a bridge in Burbank. They also sent me a coupon for 50 cents off my next purchase of Hot Pockets. I'm watching Airwolf tonight. Through my neighbor's window.

That bastard stole one of my cufflinks and my bunion pads while accosting me for some spare change. I might add that his breath reeked of day old cruellers and Old Spice, could have been Hai Karate, hard to tell these days.
